My successes are for me alone and the ghosts of my life before. Spectator to specter. I’m haunted by laughter I’ll never hear again. The bus rides to the lake are always alone, while you embrace true love and build a new home. I sigh hopelessness. Sobriety is funny especially when your dying and horny.

A few years ago, I had an idea to do a version of this song on an acoustic guitar and turn it into a coffee shop jam. Then I forgot about it. I was cleaning out some files and I found some notes I had on it and decided to give it a whirl for fun. I’ll probably go back and turn down the keys and turn up the drum tracks. I’m feeling lazy tonight, but it’s not too bad considering I did it all in 30 mins or so.

Also, this was just in time for the band’s reunion shows.

Couple things:

1. Booking shows and since people don’t know who the fuck I am, these first shows will be cover sets with 90s songs, this being one them. Also, I just felt like recording this because it’s an awesome jam, even when it’s barebones.

2. Speak, Priest will be a full-band, so I can live out my dream of having a Jawbreaker-esque pop-punk posse (though not as good as Jawbreaker, probably). We’re still working out the configuration of the group, but you won’t be disappointed.

I was digging through an old folder and I found this version laying around. It was a test track I gave to my friend, Mike Naydeck. He mixed it down properly, since I’m kinda bad at that sort of thing. The guy is a talented producer and engineer, so if you’re in Texas and want to record with a solid and great dude, I highly recommend him.
